Rusmolco sowed 59 000 hectares during spring campaign-2022

The Russian Dairy Company, leading producer of the raw milk in the Penza region and one of the largest raw milk producers in the country, has completed the spring sowing campaign. The field work was carried out according to the schedule. The availability of crop production allows the company to form its own feed base for the own livestock.

In 2022, the total area of the land under cultivation is 82 000 hectares. During the spring campaign, Rusmolco sowed over 59 000 hectares of land which is 9% more than a year earlier. The work was carried out in 9 areas of the Penza region: Bashmakovo, Nizhniy Lomov, Pachelma, Narovchat, Penzenskiy, Kamenka, Kuznetsk, Belinsk and Serdobsk. More than 350 units of equipment were involved in the seeding campaign.

This year, the company's crop rotation includs such crops as wheat, malting and fodder barley, sunflower, sugar beet, soybeans, corn, mustard (sinapis) as well as perennial and annual grasses. The main volume of land – about 15 000 hectares – is sown with the corn for silage and grain. 8 500 hectares are occupied by spring wheat; 6 500 hectares - by soybeans, 7 000 hectares – by sunflower. The agronomists of the company expanded the sowing area under mustard up to 700 hectares. In addition, perennial and annual grasses as well as sugar beet were planted. It should be noted that Rusmolco continues to grow brewing barley under the demand of large brewing companies. More than 8 000 hectares of land have been allocated for the brewing barley.

For the spring campaign, Rusmolco used the seed material processed at the company’s seed plant located in the Bashmakovo area. The company prepared seeds of spring wheat, malting barley, soybeans, peas, vetch, oats, mustard, grass sorghum, and alfalfa. In addition to say, on the eve of the sowing season, the Russian Dairy Company increased the sales of the seed material in the Penza region and beyond, thereby providing local farmers with high-quality seed stuff.

The spring field works were carried out smoothly and on time thanks to the thorough preparation of all processes in advance: nitrogen mineral fertilizers have been purchased beforehand in the autumn-winter period from Russian and foreign suppliers; seeds have been prepared at the own Rusmolco’s plant; agri specialists got trained and improved their professional skills and expertise. During the spring months, the company's fields have been carefully prepared, namely pre-sowing cultivation, application of liquid nitrogen fertilizers, harrowing. Active work has been carried out on the areas under perennial grasses of the past years. The grasses have been fed with mineral fertilizers just in time to stimulate the growth and tillering development.

Crop production is one of the most important areas of the Rusmolco’s activity. The company's land bank in the Penza region is over 152 000 hectares. A closed agri production cycle (production, storage and grain processing) is formed at the Russian Dairy Company.
