Rusmolco puts into operation the first farm within confines of the joint venture with Olam International

A modern commercial dairy farm of «Rusmolco» in Arshinovka was inaugurated by the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich and the Governor of the Penza region Vasiliy Bochkarev.

On the 2d of October the Presidential Plenipotentiary Envoy to the Volga Federal District Mikhail Babich and the Governor of the Penza region Vasiliy Bochkarev inaugurated a modern dairy farm of the «Russian Dairy Company» («Rusmolco») in village Arshinovka of Nizniy Lomov area of the Penza region. It is the first farm built within confines of the joint venture with Singaporean agricultural company Olam International.

Capacity of the dairy is 4600 cows and 1500 replacements. At the moment the dairy has more than 5000 heads, including 2200 cows, 2250 heifers, young stock. The mega farm comprises of 5 cow barns, 2 milking sheds, 2 heifer villages, manure processing unit, lagoons, feed warehouses, and fleet of farm machinery. The main milking shed of the dairy – «Rotary» was manufactured by American company Boumatic. The rotary is designed for 72 places. The dairy occupies 45 ha in total.

The new dairy created almost 200 highly paid jobs in the region. An average wage at in 2014 amounts to RUB 23 000. «Rusmolco» has constructed 16 houses for specialists and consigned rooms in the hostel to employees. The company provides various security guarantees to the employees.

The dairy in Arshinovka will produce up to 120 t of milk per day or 46 000 t per year after reaching the full capacity. «Rusmolco» has already populated the herd with cattle of Holstein-Friesian breed. Company specialists personally selected the best animals at breed livestock farms in the Netherlands and the USA. The cattle have high genetic potential, after their third lactation the cows will produce up to 10 t of milk per year.

Construction of the dairy farm in Arshinovka started on August 16, 2012 . Amount of investments in the project is almost RUB 3,3 billion, including RUB 1,9 billion granted by «Russian Agricultural Bank» as a long-term loan and RUB 1,4 billion of own funds. Cost of the projects includes construction of a stand-alone heifer village.
