“Rusmolco” has finished completing the full set of dairy herd in Kuznetsk

“Russian dairy company” has finished completing the livestock population at the industrial complex of 1200 heads in Kuznetsk. The last shipment of Holstein-Friesian bred cattle arrived at the farm on the 21^st of September.

The shipment of cattle required to fully complete the final set of dairy herd arrived at “Rusmolco’s” complex in Kuznetsky raion. All the cows of a highly productive Holstein-Friesian breed were delivered from major European farms.

The shipments of the final lot of pedigree heifers designated for the complex in Kuznetsk began in May 2012. Up to now, all 450 heifers have arrived at the farm; the last shipment arrived in Kuznetsky raion on the 21^st of September.

«Taking into account the newly arrived lot, the dairy herd at the complex in Kuznetsk now comprises 1200 heads as it was stipulated in the design capacity. The planned performance of each cow is 8-9 thousand liters of milk per year. All the heifers which arrive at the farm have 5 months pregnancy. The mass calving is expected in November – December 2012. The first calvings of the cows, which arrived in May have already begun. We are currently ready to reach the planned capacity and work at a 100% efficiency», - said the Director of Dairy division of LLC «MC «Rusmolco» Shan Betzold.

“Russian dairy company” (“Rusmolco”) – is a leading manufacturer of milk in Penzenskaya oblast and one of the largest players on the milk market of the country. Currently, “Rusmolco” comprises nine farms, which specialize in dairy cattle breeding and crop production. The area of the governed lands is 140 thousand hectares, the livestock population for August 1, 2012 – over 7,8 thousand heads, of which 4,4 thousand are cows.

In 2007 “Rusmolco” commenced its operations in the region with renovations and reconstructions of the old dairy farms, currently “Rusmolco” has set a priority to constructing new global-level dairy complexes. Now, the company has two projects implemented in the Penzenskaya oblast from scratch: an industrial complex for 3600 heads at Narovchatsky raion and a modern farm for 1200 heads in Kuznetsky raion. In 2012 the company began constructing the largest dairy complex in Nezhnelomovsky raion with a planned capacity of 120 tons of milk per day. Currently, there are no similar complexes in the country.

On January 30, 2012 “Rusmolco” signed a cooperation agreement with a company “Olam”, one of the global leaders in agriculture, in order to develop the dairy cattle breeding and crop production in Penzenskaya oblast. The parties intend to invest up to 400 million U.S. dollars until year 2015 within the frame of the first phase of implementing a development program. It is planned to create a milking herd of 20 thousand heads within this timeframe, as well as increase the area of arable lands up to 106 thousand ha.
